The Unexpected

 It was her day off, and she found herself 

up at the Food Lion

 just 6 minutes away from her house. 

As she walked in she passed by him 

and threw her most innocent "Hello" at him. 

He looked pleased and shocked all at the same time,

so she explained herself by saying, 

"it's my day off,

 so here I am in traitor territory."

He smiled knowingly because he himself had 

just came and visited her the other day 

at her place of employment. 

She bought her usual items plus a few extra  

items and on her way out, 

he made sure to wave "bye" to her. 

She waved back and smiled. 

Then she completely forgot all of it 

cuz that's how her mind worked. 

It had other things to think about and work out. 

The other day, her roommate had asked her 

if she missed having whoopie... 

To which she replied almost immediately 

a huge NO! 

Then she added in order to clear up the shock

on her roommates face, 

that it wasn't that she didn't want a partner,

It's just that she believed in a deeper connection.

The whoopie was just an added bonus 

to the already formed deep connection. 

And so yes, 

she had already experienced quite a few offers, 

to which she had responded with a 

sweet thanks but no thanks. 

And the guy whom she was interested in at her work,

seemed to have flaked out. 

He still came through her lane but he seemed

more and more lost. 

He must have been going through a hardship.

Cuz he was buying beer just as she would do

on her days off. 

So she gave him space

 to figure it out.

For now she had a similar looking dude who 

seemed more together, and so she allowed herself

to explore this new territory.
