As she pulled up to her place of employment,
she chained up her bike and headed straight
for the break room.
She began taking off all her winter gear
and realized just how windy it really was outside.
The strong aggressive gusts of wind had almost
blown her completely off her bicycle
while riding towards work.
Then amidst her trying to recalibrate her lost balance,
she almost crashed into a fallen down tree branch.
Luckily enough,
she only worked 6 minutes away on bike.
Otherwise she might have not made it.
Once she was on the clock and at her register,
as she began working,
the computer before her kept blotching up.
They eventually had to reboot the whole system
in the end because it locked up.
In addition,
when they moved her to a totally different
register,
that register too ended up glitching up right away.
She couldn't help but wonder,
was the Northwest wind that came howling in
with her,
wanting to change things up?
She couldn't help herself, and allowed the sly smile
she was trying to hide so bad,
just completely burst free.
She looked at her co-workers and said,
"I hexed it!"
Then she laughed her evil laugh and walked away.
She knew they talked about her behind her back.
But she also knew that
When she went back to the what was now a freshly
rebooted register,
she turned to see if the man in all Black
was at his usual table.
But he wasn't there.
She knew though deep inside,
that the very next day;
Valentine's Day...
He would be there.
But she couldn't be.
Wouldn't be.
Because with the howling wind
that she rode through tonight came her answer.
And she was definitely not one to
go against her intuition.
