Life was ever changing.
She was trying to grasp it with both hands
but once she started spinning,
she realized it was time to let go.
She finally decided to just allow whatever
wanted to happen, happen.
However,
she did have a new tool in her back pocket,
known as discernment,
and so this time she was definitely
not going to go without it.
Last week,
when she went out dancing as per usual,
it had become her first test.
A guy had came around and bought her beers
and they danced as expected.
However, during the course of the night,
the guy began dancing and grabbing her neck
in a choke hold, as if it was normal.
She immediately felt the energy of it and just knew...
Nope.
Not this guy.
And so she left the bar and went on her merry way.
She wasn't going to try to change him or brush it off.
What he said and did was in her eyes a true
display of who he was in the now moments.
And that was enough to tell her that out of the
billions of people out there,
this one, was not one that matched her.
Moving on.
As she walked into work,
she did her usual routine,
break room, bathroom, then clock in,
when this one time,
as she walked into the break room,
he waved to her.
Shock ran through her body.
Did he really just wave to her?
Her mind was trying to over think it as if it was a threat or something,
but her body knew to be kind and reciprocate,
and so she lifted her hand
and waved a 'Hello' back.
As she was putting things in her locker,
her mind chimed in again,
Did he just make the first move since the last time they
had talked?
The last time they had encountered each other was when
she was working the bakery.
She was trying to lift something when he stepped in
and helped her out.
He was tall and slender but he wasn't weak.
He mentioned calisthenics and she completely
understood because her father had done the same
thing and was strong as heck!
She saw that he had his hair in a high pony tail.
which meant his hair was probably chin or neck length.
But it was shaved underneath...
She actually found that style pretty cool.
She would chat casually with him when ever he came around,
but then she had to switch departments.
After that she didn't see him again until
that very interception in the break room.
Later that same day, she was working the register
when he came through her lane.
She made a comment about the gift card he was buying
and he went into an explanation...
Right then and there,
she regretted her assumption and found a way
to kindly change the subject.
He seemed a lot happier answering her question,
but then another customer came into the lane and they
both sensed the necessary closure.
But she did feel the linger of hope.
Perhaps another perchance was in the near future?
And then
there it was...
That fire...
As small as it was,
it was igniting again.
Would this be a fire?
Or just a spark?
Stay tuned!
